The PCMP is the gateway to urban
ministerial education in Buffalo.
The Pastoral and Church Ministries Program (PCMP) is a community based
educational program for pastoral and lay ministry. The PCMP educational process
is community centered and community driven. The primary focus of the PCMP is to
provide a quality education and environment for ministry which can lead to a
revitalization of the spiritual and social infrastructure of the community.
Houghton College at Buffalo - PCMP was established in 1994 in Buffalo’s
inner city. This program is designed to provide ministerial and religious study
courses aimed at preparing persons to minister in urban communities.
The PCMP provides the following services:

An Associate of Applied Science degree in Christian Ministries….
requiring the completion of 62 hours in ministry education.
- The Certificate In Ministry and Certificate in Christian Education Programs
… requiring the completion of twelve (12) courses in ministry education.
- The Loretta J. Fields Ministry Resource Center …. providing
ministerial and theological resources for study, sermon and lecture preparation,
theological research and ministry skill building resources. The Center has
available audio, video, and computer accessible materials.

Houghton College at Buffalo is the campus for the Pastoral and Church
Ministries Program (PCMP). The PCMP prepares you for excellence in ministry and
community service as you study toward:
*A Certificate in Ministry,
*A Certificate in Christian
Education, or
*An Associate of Applied Science degree
in Christian Ministries.
