With a 6-1-1 conference record, the Highlanders finished third in the AMC North Division. They lost to Tiffin, 2-1, in the first round of the AMC Tournament and finished the season with an 8-5-2 record. Trevor Eby led the Highlanders in scoring for the third-straight season with 13 goals and eight assists. Elvis Langa was second in goals with seven and Eddie Acker led the team in assists with 11.
November
9 – Tiffin 2, Houghton 1
Houghton’s season ended with a 2-1 loss to Tiffin in the AMC qualifier. Two minutes after the Dragons took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute, Trevor Eby evened the scored with his team-leading 13th goal off an assist from Brad Clodfelter. Tiffin got the gamewinner in the 64th minute to advance to the Region IX Final Four. Steve Cox made seven saves and allowed both goals. Tiffin outshot the Highlanders, 18-13, and held a 7-4 advantage in corners.
November
2 – Houghton 6, St. Vincent 2
The Highlanders wrapped up their regular season with a 6-2 win over St. Vincent. Trevor Eby and Elvis Langa each scored twice, with Iain Velez and Eddie Acker scoring the other Highlander goals. Acker picked up two assists to give him 11 on the season, while Velez, Eby, and Tyler Stevenson also picked up helpers. Steve Cox allowed two goals in 65 minutes. Michael Diercks did not face a shot in 25 minutes. Houghton held a 25-2 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corners. The 8-4-2 Highlanders finished third in the AMC North Division and will play at Tiffin, second seed in the South, in the AMC/Region IX quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 9.
October 30 – Houghton 8, Gannon 2
Trevor Eby and the Highlanders continued their scoring onslaught in an 8-2 win over Gannon. Eby tallied two goals and three assists on the night. Sean Crozier, Tyler Stevenson, Iain Velez, Eddie Acker, and Tim Haffey also scored. The other Highlander goal was an own goal off an attempted clearance by a Gannon defender. Elvis Langa had two assists, while Matt Hubbell and Ben Wallenbeck each picked up one helper. Steve Cox played 75 minutes and made three saves while allowing two goals. Rob Renuart made one save in 15 minutes. Shots were 24-12 in favor of Houghton. Corners were 10-5 in favor of the Highlanders.
October 26 - Houghton 5, Geneva 2
The Highlanders won their second-straight game, defeating Geneva College, 5-2. Elvis Langa led the Highlanders by scoring two goals in a span of two minutes. Trevor Eby scored once, giving him a team-leading eight goals on the season, and added two assists. Tyler Stevenson and Sean Crozier also tallied one goal each. Edward Acker added two assists, giving him a team-leading nine assists on the season. Steve Cox made four saves and allowed two goals. Houghton outshot Geneva 23-9, with both teams earning four corners. Houghton moves to 6-4-2 on the season.
October 22 - Houghton 8, Point Park 1
The Highlanders spread out the scoring in a rout of Point Park. Trevor Eby and Sean Crozier scored twice, and Mike Wheelhouse, Phillip Cabildo, Rusty Knight, and Tim Haffey added solo tallies. Eddie Acker and Brad Clodfelter had three assists apiece, while Tyler Stevenson and Eby each had one helper. Three goalkeepers saw action with Steve Cox starting and not facing any shots in 27 minutes. Michael Diercks made one save in 37 minutes and Rob Renuart made two saves and allowed one goal in 26 minutes of action. Houghton outshot the Pioneers, 42-6, and held an 11-3 edge in corners.

19 – Berry (Ga.) 2, Houghton 1
The
Highlanders lost their second-straight on their October trip to
Georgia, falling 2-1 to Berry College. Tyler Stevenson put the
Highlanders on the board off an assist from Trevor Eby with 18
minutes left in the first half, but Berry tallied twice in the
last two minutes of the first half to grab the win. Steve Cox
made five saves in goal. Houghton had an 11-10 advantage in
shots and an 8-3 edge in corners.

17 – Covenant (Ga.) 1, Houghton 0
Houghton played even with the 5th-ranked team in the NAIA, but a handball in the box and the ensuing penalty kick dropped the Highlanders to 4-3-2 on the season. Covenant’s PK came in the 48th minute. Steve Cox made six saves in goal. The Highlanders outshot Covenant 10-9, but Covenant had a 4-3 edge in corners.

12 - Houghton 4, Union College 1
Houghton
broke out of their scoring drought to score four against Union
College of Kentucky. Trevor Eby opened the scoring for the
Highlanders in the 20th minute by heading in a wonderfully
placed corner kick by Bradley Clodfelter. Twelve minutes later,
Iain Velez was taken down in the penalty box. Eddie Acker took
the penalty shot and buried it in the back of the net. Acker
also added two assists on the night. Elvis Langa tallied a goal
for the Highlanders with one minute remaining in the first half
of play. The only goal of the second half came from Trevor Eby
in the 53rd minute off assists from Acker and Tim Haffey.
Houghton out shot Union 21-6 and held a 6-0 advantage in corner
kicks. Steve Cox made four saves in goal for Houghton. The
victory was coach Dwight Hornibrook's 100th at Houghton.

8 - Houghton 1, Roberts Wesleyan 1
After
playing a full 90 minutes and two ten minute overtime periods
the game ended in a 1-1 tie. Roberts forward Chase opened the
scoring in the 7th minute of play. Elvis Langa broke
free and scored on a breakaway for Houghton College ten minutes
later after Sean Crozier cleared the ball from the defensive end
of the field. Houghton out shot Roberts 17-12 and held a 4-3
advantage in corner kicks. Steve Cox made six saves in goal for
Houghton.

5 – Houghton 1, Malone 0
Rusty
Knight tallied the lone Highlander goal off an assist from Eddie
Acker to give Houghton the Homecoming win. Steve Cox made one
save in goal for his fourth shutout of the season. The
Highlanders outshot Malone, 19-5, and held a 9-0 advantage in
corners.
October 1 - Notre Dame of Ohio 2, Houghton 1
After three shutouts to start season, the Highlanders have dropped their last two games. Notre Dame's Jeremy Kepphart was fouled in the box leading to a penalty shot in 28th minute of play. Kepphart finished the penalty shot giving Notre Dame a 1-0 lead. Elvis Langa responded with a goal of his own for Houghton four minutes later. Off a Bradley Clodfelter throw in, Langa beat his man and headed the ball into the back of the net. The game remained tied until the 87th minute when William Poveda took a shot from the top of the box and scored, giving Notre Dame a 2-1 win. Houghton outshot Notre Dame 14-10 and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. Steve Cox made five saves in goal for the Highlanders.
September 24 – Mercyhurst 3, Houghton 2 (OT)
Houghton received their first loss of the season to the #6 ranked team in NCAA II, Mercyhurst. Both teams had chances to score in the first half of play but failed to do so. Shane Hogan of Mercyhurst opened the scoring in the 82nd minute. Oliver Woodard floated the ball in from the left flank and Hogan outjumped Houghton keeper Steve Cox and headed the ball into the back of the net. Four minutes later, Mercyhurst’s Brian Jungeberg broke free of Houghton’s defense and added the Lakers’ second goal of the game. With three minutes left in regulation time, Mercyhurst committed a foul in the box. Eddie Acker calmly placed the penalty kick in the lower left side of the goal, cutting the Mercyhurst lead to one. One minute later, after a scramble in the box, Tyler Stevenson found the ball at his foot and slipped it past the goalkeeper to tie the game at 2-2. In the first period of overtime, Mercyhurst’s Shane Hogan broke free from the defense and scored his second goal of the game for the gamewinner. Houghton was outshot 17-13 but held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks. Steve Cox made five saves in goal.

18 – Houghton 1, Walsh 0
In a sluggish game on the road, the Highlanders slipped past Walsh, 1-0. After a scoreless first half, Trevor Eby tallied the only goal of the game off an assist from Iain Velez in the 47th minute. Steve Cox made two saves to get his third shutout of the season. Houghton outshot Walsh, 15-4, and had a 7-4 advantage in corners.
September
14 – Houghton 0, Tiffin 0
Houghton’s first home game of the season ended in a 0-0 tie against Tiffin on Saturday. Houghton held a 16-14 advantage in shots and a 6-5 advantage in corners. Both teams had opportunities to score, but the best chance came for the Highlanders in the 2nd overtime period when Bradley Clodfelter had a 1v1 with the Tiffin goalkeeper at the top of the box. The goalkeeper came out and made a great save, allowing the game to end in a tie. Steve Cox made 10 saves to record the shutout.
September 10 – Houghton 4, Daemen 0
Trevor Eby scored twice and Eddie Acker added a goal and an assist to lead the Highlanders. Houghton pressured Daemen early and finally broke through on Eby’s first goal of the season in the 23rd minute. Eby was pulled down in the box seven minutes later and Acker converted the PK for a 2-0 halftime lead. Acker picked up the assist on Eby’s second goal in the 69th minute, and Iain Velez closed the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 78th minute. Steve Cox needed to make just one save to preserve the shutout. Houghton held a 32-1 advantage in shots.
