About The STA Program

The Student Technology Assistant Program exists at Houghton College to assist faculty members(and select staff)in the use of educational technology on campus. That can involve teaching the faculty member how to develop and use technology tools or it can involve the actual development of technology tools that might be used in the classroom.

All of the Student Technology Assistants are trained in the art of web page design, the creation of Power Point presentations and CDs, video capture, and the digitizing of images and text. They are also open to learning discipline-specific software that may be of interest to particular faculty. The Student Technology Assistants perform most of their work in the Faculty and Staff Development Center in the Willard J. Houghton Library.
