Houghton College

Faculty Scholarship Booklet

The purpose of this booklet is to gather into one place a listing of the scholarship works of Houghton College faculty. These works have been grouped into six categories and even those six create some ambiguity at times. Our purpose is primarily to distinguish those among us who exercise their prerogative to participate in research, writing, and professional activities. Opportunity is also given to recognize efforts to serve the broader community in ways made possible by disciplinary expertise.

The categories include:

Books (written or edited)
We will keep a complete list, repeating in every edition an entire list of books written/edited by Houghton College faculty members.

Articles (scholarly, in anthologies or refereed journals)
References will be kept for two or three years.

Reviews/Other publications (magazine articles, less restrictive journals, etc.)
Published since January, 1996, or not previously included in a booklet.

Presentations/Performances/Exhibits/Consultations
To include papers read, responses to papers, panel discussions, readings, etc.

Pedagogical Innovations
New courses, new techniques, curricular development, interdisciplinary connections.

Applied Scholarship
Service rendered to school, community, church, etc. which grows out of one's disciplinary training and competence.
