Ron Mahurin
Vice President for Academic Affairs

Founded in 1883, Houghton College is a Christian liberal arts college in the Wesleyan tradition. Few colleges have so successfully combined the inspiration and strength of the Christian spirit with a contemporary, academically excellent, liberal arts education.  Located in rural western New York, Houghton has an idyllic sense of community that is the desire of many colleges. Enrollment exceeds 1,200 students, with over 90 percent residential.  The college has an operating budget in excess of $30 million and a growing endowment that now approaches $35 million.

Houghton is a leader in the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). The typical incoming Houghton student scores 160+ points above the national average on the SAT, and two-thirds are in the top 25% of their high school class.  Houghton has been named to the Honor Roll in the Templeton Guide, which selects colleges that encourage character development.  More about Houghton College can be found at www.houghton.edu

Houghton College is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity within its administration, faculty, staff and student populations. Women and minorities are strongly urged to apply.
