Houghton College offers math tutoring over the web to students in grades three and four at the King Center Charter School. During the 2002-2003 school year we have had eight tutors working with about 17 students. Each student receives three sessions of tutoring each week, and each session is one half-hour in length. Tutors must be Education majors, and a preference is given to Childhood Education majors. Although the tutoring is not tied specifically to any one course, it is helpful if tutors have taken or are currently  taking EDUC 342, Teaching Elementary Math and Science.
