Houghton College Career Services

NEED A JOB?

The Job Bulletin is updated weekly and listings are retained for approximately one month. If you would like to list an opening in the Job Bulletin, please contact Career Services directly by telephone, fax or e-mail.  Our listing of  employment opportunities does not constitute an endorsement of the employer or their policies by Houghton College.  Individuals responding to the ads are advised to make their own inquiries about any potential employer.

If your resume needs polishing, let us help!  Our resume prep, mock interviews, career counseling and other services are not limited to current students.  YOUR career success is important to us.  Contact us to discuss how we can help you get on track.

DO YOU or YOUR EMPLOYER NEED TO HIRE SOMEONE?

Career Services works collaboratively with other departments on ways for alumni who employ, and employers of alumni to access resumes of both current students and graduates who are seeking employment.  New developments in this area will be posted here.

In the meantime, don't forget you can have your job opening posted in the Job Bulletin.  Give us the details by telephone, fax, or e-mail.  The posting remains for about one month, and we keep a copy in the office for about 3 months after that.

Houghton College is a partner with MonsterTrak, an on-line professional placement service.  To take advantage of this resource, post your resume, and/or view job postings, select "Houghton" from the drop-down menu and follow the on-line registration instructions.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A CAREER MENTOR?

When you first started working, were you unsure of yourself, and not quite convinced of your abilities or chosen field?  Did your career field change once you graduated?

Studies have shown that having a career mentor - someone who's been around the block and can offer skillful wisdom and guidance - can be vital to the career success of new graduates.  If you're interested in sharing your expertise with students interested in the same career field, please contact Tim Nichols to talk about how we can help make these contacts.

  • Alumni are also encouraged to visit the Houghton College Alumni Office for information on becoming a mentor, and join "One Willard Ave," an on-line community message board sponsored by the Alumni Office.
