A true leader guides by example—Houghton College and
President Shirley Mullen will help you become a confident person of influence.
We invite you to a week-long conversation on “The Big Questions:” What is my
purpose? How do I use my gifts and talents? What is the role of Christian
leadership in a secular society?
Learn effective leadership skills from Houghton’s president and other key campus leaders. According to President Mullen, the Institute is about “teaching students to be whole people in a fragmented world—people who bring their thinking, their feeling, and their doing together—all within the context of their spiritual and moral commitments.”
Experience an adrenaline rush through character-building activities including leadership simulations, ropes course work, white water rafting and much more! Test your ideals, wrestle with current issues and learn to stand apart through strength in your convictions.
High achieving high school juniors and seniors are invited to spend the week at the President’s Institute. This Houghton experience will change the way you think and encourage you on your leadership development journey.
