Outdoor Soccer Rules
1.
Games will consist of 2-20 minute halves and a 3-minute half time.
2.
A team can field nine (8) players (this includes the
goalie).
3.
A team must have six (6) players in order to start a game.
4.
If the game is tied at the end of regulation, there will be a 5-man
shootout to determine the winner.
If the game is still tied, the shootout will become sudden death.
A player may not attempt two penalty kicks during the shootout until each
person on their team has executed one attempt.
Exception: If a team has fewer players than their opponents, their
opponents only need to match the same number of players.
5.
Darkness – the referee will give a verbal five-minute warning if the
game needs to be called for darkness.
6.
A player can only slide tackle from the frontal plane.
7.
Goalie rules:

Must
be designated so that the officials are aware of who this is.

May
not play a ball with his hands if that ball has been passed to him by a
teammate (exception: the ball is passed to the goalie off of a player’s
head).
8.
All substitutions must be made at mid-field on the bench side and cannot
be used for an advantage.
9.
Corner and goal kicks shall be in line with traditional soccer practices.
10.
Indirect free kicks will be awarded for:

Off sides
·
Goalkeeper holding the ball for more then 5 seconds
·
Unsportsmanlike behavior
·
Intentional obstruction
*All
other violations will result in a direct free kick.
11.
For purposes of this sport, team size will be limited to 20 players;
therefore, 5 players may be non-students.
