Camerata Chamber Orchestra

Occasionally the activities of the Houghton Philharmonia and chamber music intersect in order for students to perform the repertoire that has been written for string orchestra or chamber orchestra. Camerata players are selected from the full orchestra.

Music of Vivaldi, Bach, Grieg, Stravinsky, Vaughan Williams, Sibelius, Copland, and others has recently been performed, and McAllister, Barber, and Debussy will be performed this season. Camerata is conducted by Dr. Brian Casey, conductor of the Philharmonia and the Symphonic Winds, assisted by Dr. Donna Lorenzo, assistant professor of violin and coordinator of strings.
