Occasionally the activities of the Symphonic Winds and chamber music intersect in order for students to perform repertoire that has been written for a smaller ensemble with flexible instrumentation based on the scoring. CWE players are selected from Symphonic Winds, on occasion supplemented by outside players.

Music of Hahn and recently been performed, and Mendelssohn’s Notturno, Dvorak’s Serenade, Op. 22, and Gounod’s Petite Symphonie are programmed in 2010-2011. The Chamber Wind Ensemble is coached and conducted by Dr. Brian Casey, conductor of the Symphonic Winds and the Philharmonia.
