Houghton College Chamber Singers
The Houghton College Chamber Singers is designed to be an apprenticeship for students who aspire to sing and conduct at the professional level. Because of the more demanding rehearsal expectation and diverse literature, the 20-voice Chamber Choir includes only the most gifted and passionate choral students on campus. All of these students pursue music as a degree and see their future in singing and/or conducting professionally. The ensemble is designed to challenge students to use their voices flexibly by programming a diverse array of professional choral literature from twenty-first century opera chorus to early chant. In addition, this ensemble strives to hold singers accountable to professional standards of rehearsal expectation and preparation.
The ensemble meets first semester only and often performs off campus. If you would like to have the Houghton College Chamber Singers visit your church or event, contact Brandon Johnson.
