Two Houghton Students Selected to Conduct at the 2006 ACDA Convention
Two Houghton College students were selected to participate in a conducting master-class at the 2006 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division convention in New York City.
Adam Potter was one of two students chosen as a conductor in the undergraduate conduction audition. He is a junior music education vocal emphasis major from Wyalusing, Pa.
Sarah Stedman was chosen as first alternate in the graduate conducting audition. She is a graduate student majoring in choral conducting from Altamont, N.Y. and is the only female selected.
Potter and Stedman sent in videotapes for the auditions. They were chosen by a panel of collegiate judges to participate in this master-class in February. The Houghton College is the only Christian College to have students selected for this honor.
