Daniel Black is an active conductor, music educator, and singer in the Buffalo area. In addition to conducting the Men's Choir at Houghton, he serves as the Assistant Conductor for the Vocalis Chamber Choir and presently teaches choir and theory at Immaculata Academy in Hamburg, NY. For the past two seasons, he has also sung professionally with the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus under Doreen Rao.

Mr. Black attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where he received a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Studies. He then worked as a church choir conductor and free-lance singer in the Chicago area before moving back to his home state of Minnesota to do the same, including serving as bass section leader of the renowned ensemble, Magnum Chorum. He has also worked in development with positions at Lyric Opera of Chicago and the American Composers Forum. In 2008, he received a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Houghton College.
