Dr. Galloway joined the School of Music faculty in 1973. He holds the B.Mus. and M.Mus. degrees in Piano Performance from Boston University, the M.T.S. (Master of Theological Studies) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and the Ph.D. in Musicology from Michigan State University.  Additionally, Dr. Galloway pursued advanced studies in piano at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Köln, Germany, as a  Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst scholar.  His piano teachers have included Leon Tumarkin, Bela Boszörmenyi-Nagy, Joseph Bloch, and Heinz Schröter.   As a scholar with special interests in the music of Bach and the late Baroque, Dr. Galloway has been a Fellow in the National Endowment for the Humanities sponsored seminar on the music of J.S. Bach at Harvard University, and has taught graduate courses in Eighteenth Century music at Michigan State University, where he was Visiting Associate Professor of Music in the fall of 1995.
