Applying to the Undergraduate Program

The application process to the School of Music includes:

  • the completed music application, available for download (PDF, 140KB) or online. There is no fee for the music application process.
  • two teacher recommendations, downloadable (PDF, 140KB)  or online (see instructions at online site).
  • audition on campus.

Auditions are scheduled at various points in the school year, and applications are due prior to your scheduled audition date.  If you are unable to audition on any of the published dates, call the music office (585.567.9400) to arrange an alternative schedule.

Students applying for entrance to the School of Music must also complete a general application to Houghton College.  This general application must be completed prior to the audition date.

Checklist**:

__ music application submitted to the Greatbatch School of Music.

__ two teacher recommendations.

__ audition request, directly to the Greatbatch School of Music office, via mail, email, or by phone at 585.567.9400.

__ college application material submitted to the college Admission Office.
