P.A.C.E. Admission Essay

The following essay assignment is an integral and important part of the admission process for the Houghton College P.A.C.E. Program.

Please write about 1000 words, total, answering these questions:

¨ Who do I want to become?

¨ What do I want to be like?

¨ What do I want to be doing?

¨ Who am I now?

¨ What are my various strengths?

¨ What are my various weaknesses?

We are interested in both the quality of your writing and the thoughtfulness of the ideas we find in your essay. Therefore, please give careful thought to your essay, and write well.

If you have conceptual difficulties beginning to write, you may find it helpful to read the first chapter of Steven Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change, entitled “Begin with the End in Mind.” This book is available in the Houghton College at West Seneca Library, or may be purchased at most bookstores or online at www.amazon.com.

Please submit the essay in word processed form, with your name at the top left of each page. You should use double spacing, 1” margins, a 12-point font, and number your pages.
