Main Ideas/Details in Reading

Main ideas are broad generalizations that take into account a large number of cases. They are no good without support. A lecturer must defend his/her generalizations with PROOF. This proof comes in the form of specific incidents--examples, illustrations, anecdotes, case histories, and descriptions.
