Reviewing for Exams
Once you have used the appropriate study techniques to learn assigned
material, you are ready to review for tests.
Make up a Task-based Schedule
Plan 6 to 7 hours of extra time to review for each major tests.
 |
Review one hour per day for the seven days right before the test. |
 |
Review in a different way each day. |
The Week before the Test
Ways to Review:
 |
Study Class Notes (corrections/additions to notes should already have been
made) |
 |
Go over terms (you may need to do this daily, in different ways) |
Give oral definitions of terms.
Write out definitions to terms.
Ask questions and give the correct term as an answer
 |
Study the material by topics (review topic "maps") |
 |
Quiz a friend - have them quiz you - quiz each other (study groups) |
 |
Test yourself (require yourself to make written responses to questions) |
Accept when you have reached your memory limit & STOP. (Any study
past this point will confuse you!)
The Morning of the Test
The morning of the test, review confidently
 |
Do not try to learn anything new the morning of the exam |
 |
Listen to classical music for awhile just before the exam |
