Commissioner of Finance

The SGA Commissioner of Finance is responsible for all SGA funds and oversees spending from the student project fund (SPF), as well as to keep the senate and executive cabinet informed of the status of SGA funds. Specifically, the Commissioner submits an SGA budget each semester and the Campus Services Budget in the spring. The Commissioner will also serve as a resource person to organizational treasurers, COSO, and the SPF committee.

One of the primary functions of the SGA Commissioner of Finance is assisting students who receive Houghton College funding. Whether a club treasurer or president seeking advice or information, a student or group of students interested in CEF Type II funding, or a student seeking information on the SPF, feel free to email the Commissioner any questions you have.


Report from the FC

The Finance Council is chaired by the Vice President for Finance, with the purpose of advising the vice president on Houghton's fiscal policy, and to focus on budgetary matters. The SGA Commissioner of Finance is an ex officio member of the FC, and during this semester, the Commissioner will update this page with regular reports from the Finance Council.
