April 15th Issue
Committee Elections are happening this week, April 24th in Senate. Students are needed to sit on a number of different committees. If you are even the least bit interested Then you owe it to yourself to check out the committees. Committees give you valuable experience, look great on resumes and help you to become a more rounded Scholar Servant. Think About It!
Blood Drive UpdateAt the April 8th Blood Drive 59 productive units were collected. Thanks to all who helped to make this Blood Drive a success. The next Blood Drive will be scheduled early next semester.

January 28 Issue
It's not too early to start thinking about a position in leadership. Start attending senate meetings (Thursdays at 8:15pm in Little Schaller Hall) this week to find out what it's like to be a senator. Visit the Elections page for more details, and get in the game!
Blood Drive: Thursday, January 31Sign up during lunch or dinner this week for the Blood Drive on Thursday. The Red Cross will be in the basement of the Campus Center from 10am-4pm. Donate to enter a drawing for $25 gift card to Java 101. Walk-ins welcome.
"Back of the Page" ResolutionOn January 24 the Senate voted in favor of a resolution to support an initiative brought forward by Angela Smalley called "Back of the Page." This proposal hopes to cut the amount of paper consumed at Houghton College in half by using the back of the page.

January 16 Issue
Join President Mullen and Vice President Sharra Hynes at the Senate meeting on Thursday, January 17th to discuss the judiciary policies here at Houghton. The Senate meets at 9pm in Little Schaller Hall. All students are welcome to attend and ask questions.
Blood Drive Drawing Winner!Congratulations to Rachel Cliff! Rachel won a $25 gift certificate for the campus store. Be on the look-out for the next SGA Blood drive so you can save lives and maybe even save some money on your text books!

Little known facts about the SGA- The Climbing Wall was renovated in the summer of 2003! Who did it? The Student Project Fund, of course!

The Turkey Drive raised an impressive $1,560. Because of your support, 71 families in Allegany County were able to enjoy a turkey dinner this Thanksgiving!
Blood Drive: Thursday, December 6Sign-ups to donate are available at meals starting Friday until Wednesday of next week. Donate blood on Thursday, December 6 and have your name included in a drawing to win up to $25 at the campus store or Java.
Dance Resolution UpdateOn November 8, 2007, the Senate voted to approve a resolution on dancing on campus. This resolution was then shared with the Task Force on Community Responsibilities. Look out for more to come!

Boxes for Operation: Christmas Child can be dropped off at the SGA Office by this Saturday, November 10 or at the Houghton Wesleyan Church by Sunday, November 11. Contact sga@houghton.edu if you have further questions.
Turkey DriveIt is time once again for Houghton’s annual Turkey Drive! This fundraiser raises money to give less-fortunate families of Allegany County a free turkey for Thanksgiving. Our goal this year is $2,000!
Angel Tree Toy DriveThis year, through the cooperation of the Student Life Office and the SGA, there will be an Angel Tree set up in the campus center. Be on the look out!
