 * Juniors and Seniors in townhouses, College Flats or on the townhouse floor in  Shenawana  are eligible for seven meal or 85 block plan.

All Juniors and Seniors who live in a residence hall but are not on a townhouse floor must be on 14 or 21 meal plan or either the 210 or 165 block plan.

Who would benefit from a block plan?  Block plans are definitely not for everybody, but they do have advantages that some students will find useful.  While block plans do not provide as many meals as their "meals per week" counterparts at the same price point, they provide more flexibility.

*      A block plan provides a certain number of meals for the semester (either 85 meals. 165 meals or 210 meals), and can be used up in different ways.  For example, if you wish to take five meals in the first week, twenty meals the second week and eight meals the week after that, you may do so – until you have used up all the meals in your block.

*      Those on a block plan can "scan" for another person (friend, parent, sibling) who is visiting for the day, thus enabling that visitor to enjoy a meal without having to pay out of pocket.

Big Al’s Transferability

A continuing feature for 2008-09 is the option to take some of your meals at Big Al’s Snack Shop  rather than at the dining hall.

Q. How many meals can I transfer from the dining hall and take at Big Al’s instead?

A. 15 transfer meals per semester are available for all meal plan options.

Q. Can I transfer the meals any time I want?

A. Not exactly. The hours are as follows:

·           Mon. – Fri. from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm

·           Mon. – Fri. from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm IF YOU DID NOT EAT DINNER THAT DAY  In other words, if you ate dinner in the dining hall earlier, you cannot scan for your meal at Big Al’s that night.

·           There is no transfer option of meals on Weekends

Q. When I scan for one of my meals at Big Al’s, is it a full size meal?  Are there limits on what I can order?

A. You will get a full-size meal, but there are limits.  You may choose one item from each of the categories below:
