RDs,  ARD, and RAs

Our residence halls, townhouses and apartments are staffed with over 40 people who are trained to provide leadership assist students in a variety of ways.  

Resident Directors (RDs)

Each residence hall has a Resident Director who oversees hall activities as well as the general welfare of the residents.  There is also one RD who oversees the townhouses and College Flats.  These master’s level professionals are trained to supervise student staff, oversee maintenance issues for the facility, do crisis intervention and some student discipline. 

Assistant Resident Director (ARD)

Gillette Hall has an Assistant Resident Director that assists the Resident Director in most day to day residence hall functioning.

Resident Advisors (RAs)

Each floor or wing in our residence halls has an RA.  These students (usually Juniors or Seniors) provide leadership and counsel to students living on their floors.  All of the RAs are carefully selected on the basis of maturity, experience and have demonstrated the ability to work well with others in both in both group and individual settings.  They are responsible for assisting residents with personal problems and with maintaining an atmosphere on the floor conducive to successful academic achievement and respect for all residents.  The College Flats and townhouses also have RAs.
