MK's & TCK's

Missionary Kids and Third Culture Kids will find Houghton College to be an ideal place to pursue a college degree. Not only do we have a large contingent of MK's and TCK's, but we also have a strong history of helping these students adjust to college life, become comfortable with their own unique cultural identity, and see Houghton as a home away from home. Many of Houghton's faculty and staff grew up on the mission field and know what it's like to be a third culture kid studying in a new environment.

The Intercultural Student Programs Office works closely with our MK and TCK students. Like our international students, third culture students bring exciting, unique, and enriching cultural experiences to Houghton College. It is our goal to serve our MK and TCK students by meeting their unique needs, being a place for support, encouragement, and advice, facilitating useful programs such as the Host Family Program and Transitions, and providing a place for fun and engaging social activities.
