The 2003 CFAMC MIDWEST REGIONAL CONFERENCE REPORT

At
3:00pm on Friday, 28 March 2003, members of the MidWest
Chapter of the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers
began to gather in the lobby of the Barnett Fine Arts Center at
Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, for a one-day meeting.
We were greeted by our host, Dr. John Akins, and a table of refreshments
that included two pots of Starbucks Coffee, one
regular and one decaf. (As
soon as I saw the Starbucks label, I knew this was going to be a great
conference.)
In
addition to Dr. Akins and myself, three other members arrived and registered
during this open registration period: Warren Gooch, Steve Paxton and Greg Scheer.
Two student members were signed
up at this time: Jodi Hitzhusen and Jason Rose. The following morning two more members registered for the
