This
unique interdisciplinary degree synthesizes
topics in world music, Christianity and global intercultural
studies. Christian musicians with diverse
interests and career goals will benefit from consideration of how music,
Christianity and world cultures have shaped
and continue to shape one another. The
curriculum goes beyond focus on unique elements of various world musics
(as in ethnomusicology), to how such elements
have been and can be brought together to create ever-fresh musical
expressions. The degree holds particular relevance for those wanting to
prepare for further graduate studies, professional
activities and service at the nexus of
music, education and Christian ministry in the twenty-first century global
milieu.
